Basketball
Basketball requires a number of skills to be an effective, high level player regardless of whether you are playing 3-on-3 or full court 5 on 5. You can develop each of the needed skills to build yourself to be the best player possible.
The critical skills are:
- Equal ability in shooting a one, two or three pointer.
- Agility (the ability to change direction quickly while in motion). This means having a technically sound and powerful cutting action .
- Quick movements on the court
- Quick arm and hand actions to steal the ball, block a pass or shot and to shoot.
- Start and stop quickly and a quick first step
- Quickly accelerate for 5 to 10 yards
- Ability to leap quickly and to leap high
These abilities make it possible for you to not only elude your opponent on offense but to stay with your opponent in man-to-man coverage or in a zone.
