In an article published in the FITNESS & SPORTS REVIEW INTERNATIONAL, it is brought out that cholesterol is essential for health. If it is lacking in your diet it will be manufactured by the body. The cholesterol can be created from the breakdown of sugar, fat and even protein.
According to Udo Erasmus, author of “Fats That Heal—Fats That Kill” the more sugars and fats (especially saturated and non-essential fatty acids) present in your diet, the more pressure there is upon the body to produce cholesterol. For this reason, diets high in sugar and non-essential fatty acids tend to result in high cholesterol levels. However, the diet high in essential fatty acids does not tend to result in high cholesterol levels. Therefore, the real culprits are the non-essential fatty acids and sugars, which cause high cholesterol levels, not the cholesterol itself.
